Bought this disc last week and really like it. It is made of recycled milk jugs. It is very sturdy and flies great. And it is made in the USA.

Did you know that each pound of recycled material saves energy equal to 3,000 AAA batteries!?

Like all toys by the company Green Toys, this frisbee is made from recycled, food-grade HDPE, which makes it a safer, environmentally-friendly plastic. It is also made in California, so buying this toy supports workers paid fairer wages than, say, a China-made frisbee. Every frisbee I’ve seen in the stores is made in China.

The frisbee itself is attractive, with an embossed design instead of paint. HDPE is an extremely durable plastic, so no worries about this one breaking. We have a number of Green Toys, and they have all endured abuse without any ill effects.

Another reviewer mentioned how hard the plastic is, and that it makes his hands hurt thinking about it. I wasn’t aware frisbees weren’t supposed to be hard, but then I’m no pro frisbee player. It is a fairly hard plastic but can be bent with a wee bit of effort. I don’t have any difficulty throwing it. It flies high and far, and I’ve not yet developed carpal tunnel from it, although I must confess I don’t play for more than a few minutes at a time with my young children.

As always, I love that Green Toys has offered a more environmentally sound, safe option for this classic, simple, fun toy. I’m very pleased with it.
